Packers/Sorters On-Site Volunteering

WITH TORONTO CARES

Summary

Toronto Cares Initiative is a nonprofit organization that provides basic needs to low income and homeless persons. Since March 2020, the initiative has provided over 12,000 Torontonians with essential resources. Additionally, At Moss Park & Allan Gardens in downtown Toronto, the organization offers meals to those in need one to three times every month.

Volunteering as a Packer/Sorters:

  • First, complete the intake form which can be found on the Toronto Cares website. You will then be added to the mailing list
  • Every Wednesday at noon an email is sent containing a Google Sheet attachment where you can comment to sign up for both driving and packing positions, that are projected to occur on the following Saturday
  • There is one volunteer packing position available at the distribution centre which is located at Leslie and York Mills from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • The majority of the packing positions are at the main site, near Roncesvalles & Queen. There are two shifts available: the first shift is 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the second shift is from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
